Jennifer Van Wie, B.A., C.H.

Jennifer  is a Consulting Hypnotist and motivational life coach.  Her goal is to help people reach their true potential and live an authentic life that releases blocks, enhances understanding of self and the world. Each of us are so incredibly unique.  Honoring the people that we are and valuing our family and community is so important.  We live in a complicated and diverse world.  The greatest gift is to seek understanding  not only of ourselves but how we work within our relationships, the community and the world.

Jennifer believes that within us we have the power to find the wisdom we need to live rich and productive lives. By listening to our hearts and hopes, we can affect change over our habits, goals and medical problems. Jennifer honors each person's culture, diverse sexual orientation, and religious and spiritual beliefs. My job is to help my clients find their own personal life path and identify their strengths, talents and build upon them. It is an honor to work with my clients and help them reach their special potential.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of  Arts  in Studio Art from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.  She is pursuing a graduate Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University in Sarasota, FL.  All universities are accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Jennifer was trained and certified as a Hypnotist by Dr. Allen Chips who is co-founder of the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists. Her advanced training includes certification in the use of hypnosis for  Fibromyalgia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome and is certified as a Medical hypnotherapy specialist through the Alabama Hypnotherapy Center under the teaching of Chaplin Paul Durbin, PhD. and Melissa Roth, PhD. Paul Durbin is a Hypnotherapist and has worked with Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Orleans using hypnosis for the inpatients there for fifteen years. Melissa Roth is known Nationally for her work in Fibromyalgia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Jennifer  is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists as a certified hypnotist and is regulated by their guide lines and ethical standards.

Jennifer has been a guest speaker at Gaston Memorial Hospital's FMS Group, Caromont Cancer Center and a guest speaker at Winthrop College as well as a guest speaker for many local organizations to demonstrate and educate the public about the uses of hypnosis.  She has worked as a co-instructor teaching the art of self-hypnosis at Gaston College in Dallas NC. Jennifer believes education is the key to understanding the benefits of hypnosis. "Hypnosis is widely misunderstood and when people truly understand the mechanics of how hypnosis works, they are able to let go of old misunderstood labels and negative myths about hypnosis. People also learn that they have done their own form of trance state without knowing it effortlessly. It isn't magic or mystical.  It is merely a skill that most anyone can learn if willing".
