Education and Training:

I am  trained in hypnotism by Dr. Allen Chips (DCH) through the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists. I am also a registered  Certified Hypnotist  with  the National Guild of Hypnotists and do annual continuing education to maintain my  training to meet the requirements set forth by the  NGH.  The National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) is the oldest and largest hypnotism organization in the world and its certification is the most widely recognized credential for the professional practice of the hypnotic arts. I am a honors graduate from the University of South Carolina, in Columbia, S.C. in Art Studio.  I am also a full time graduate student with Argosy University, in Sarasota fl. in Mental Health Counseling and am doing my student practicum and internship at the Cancer Center at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

Fees:

The charge for my services is $95.00 per hour rounded up to the nearest sixth of an hour, plus costs and expenses. Generic CD's & cassette tapes are $25.00 each and personalized CD's are $125.00 each, plus NC sales tax and shipping. Payment is expected when services are delivered unless other arrangements are made. Cash, personal check are acceptable for payment. You can also prepay your sessions on this web site. I will provide you with a receipt for all fees paid.

 

Confidentiality:

I will not release any information to anyone without a written authorization from you, except as provided for by law. You have a right to be allowed access to your  written records.

My Approach:

As a professional hypnotist, I teach, coach, guide, instruct and train clients in resolving normal problems of living through the use of self-hypnosis. I see the work of the hypnotist as non-therapeutic in nature. Hypnotists do not engage in the independent diagnosis and treatment of medical or mental disease or offer any form of dietary or nutritional guidance or counsel. 

 

Non-Therapeutic Hypnotism:

It is the independent use of the hypnotic arts and sciences to help a client inculcate positive thinking and the capacity for self-hypnosis.

 

Terminology:

A hypnotist is a person who is certified in the hypnotic arts and may hold various certifications for different hypnosis issues. They are regulated by an organization that certifies their education and ethical standards but are not licensed by the state.  Currently, North Carolina does not license hypnotist.  A person who is referred to as a Hypnotherapists is a licensed mental health or licensed medical practitioner that has received training in the hypnotic arts above and beyond their mental health and medical training.

 

Time of Sessions and Changes: I commit to begin and end our sessions on time. If you wish to change your appointment, Please give at least 24 hours in advance notice by emailing me at lifepath@carolina.rr.com or calling me at 704-214-3625. . Without this notice, you will be expected to pay for the appointment time. I will not call or send you reminders for the sessions.

 

Medical Hypnosis: Requires an appropriately licensed practitioner's written referral. Hypnosis is a complimentary treatment and is meant to assist your doctor's treatment goals.  It does not replace medical directives.  Do not get off of any medication prescribed or change directives by your physician with out talking with your doctor first, even if your symptoms improve.
