Many people use self-hypnosis
to enhance their lives to reduce stress, sleep
better, manage health issues and change
negative habits. This course will teach
you the art of self-hypnosis. This is not a
course for you to use to start using
hypnosis on the general public but rather this
course is solely for your personal use.
Course Syllabus:
Materials you will need for class:
Text book: (To be announce)
A recorder that has a good sound quality.
We will discuss this the first night of class. You
won't need a recorder until week 5.
Week 1
General Discussion about myths and wives tales
about hypnosis.
You
learn how the mind retrieves and stores
information.
You
will learn the hierarchy of mind processes
between the conscious and subconscious mind
and why hypnosis is so effective.
You
will learn how hypnosis works and why
the subconscious is your key to enduring
change.
You
will learn the history of hypnosis and how it
has evolved over time.
You
will learn the difference between
hetero-hypnosis and self-hypnosis
You
will experience a hypnosis session on
relaxation so you can experience the hypnotic
state.
Week 2.
We
will talk about the hypnotic state and do
imagery testing. (This is not a test but rather exploration of how your mind
processes information. There is for self
knowledge.
You
will learn about the different ways people
sense hypnosis through their five senses and
learn how your mind processes and connect to your
imagination so you can make more personalized
scripts.
We
will discuss how to make effective scripts
that you can record for yourself.
We
will learn the art of Induction to produce a
relaxed state (demonstration).
Experiential practice doing induction with a partner.
Week 3
You will learn the secrets behind the hypnotic voice and learn:
Pacing
Semantics
Deepening techniques
Protective suggestions
We
will go over selected scripts and talk about
how you can personalize them
for your own use.
Demonstration of the
hypnotic voice, Induction
pacing, and deepening techniques with
protective suggestions.
Experiential practice with a partner.
Week 4
Learn the difference between positive
and negative suggestion along with
direct and
indirect suggestion.
Learn how to write a script.
Learn how to record your session.
Learn how to incorporate music in your
recording.
Begin writing down the points you want to make
to your subconscious mind for change.
Experiential class participation with another
hypnotic session.
(homework: complete your
scripts this week and bring into
class)
Week five
Practice your scripts using your
hypnotic voice,
pacing, semantics, etc with a partner.
Record small sections of your session for
practice and review.
Experiential practice with class
participation.
(Make your first recorded hypnosis session and
bring it to class next week.)
Week Six:
Class show and tell. Share your experiences,
and your insights. Share Parts of your recorded
session with class.
We
will have a class discussion on how to set
future goals for using self-hypnosis.
